How To Improve This Blog?

Hey all, I just finished writing the post on long articles, and it got me thinking about the way my blog looks. At this time it’s kinda clean. I mean, I don’t have ads flashy everywhere, I just have my content and sidebar… And that’s kind of boring or maybe not that attractive. I have focused my attention on making the blog a little better on writing what I think is good quality content, but does my look good quality?

Not sure, at least I could change the theme that I’m using now for… huh, I can’t remember how long. So, on the todo list: Change WordPress Theme.

Along with theme, I think about graphics, images, I should add some to my posts to make them a little sexier. Not that it will be filled with hot girls images, but it will just look a little better. And images with alt tags and your keywords adds up to your on site SEO and thus help getting more traffic. That’s not much effort. So, second item on the todo list.

Then, I thought about readers engagement, and social activity. At the end of each post there is of course the little icons from the Sociable plugin but it could be more present. I guess a Follow me on Twitter, or link to my Facebook page will do better. Oh yeah but… I need a Facebook account for this then.

It will require me some time to make a great Facebook page but not that much if I follow some easy tutorials on YouTube (yes this tip was also for you who earch for any tutorial: search Youtube first).

This is certainly good to have people who keep coming back to this blog and comment and share thoughts. Plus social medias are so huge now it can not be overlooked and even plays a role in SEO.

For now that’s my list:

  • Change Theme
  • Add pictures to posts
  • Get more social

Have any suggestions? Shoot your comments.

That was a short post but mentioned in the beginning of the post, I added a post about writing articles, and it was over 1500 words I think so I’m done for today here ;)

Just Testing Windows Live Writer

I just saw I got an email from Matt Wadsworth about blogging from your desktop, and just like Matt, I never used Windows Live Writer. This is actually the first time I’m writing a post with it.

I thought it was just a text editing software such as MS Word or something of the like, but that’s a great little software that allow you to post on typepad, blogger or WordPress blogs, and of course live spaces.

Mac users may not be able to use it since that’s a Windows program.

It seems the program tries to retrieve your blog layout and display it in its box. From what I’m seeing, it doesn’t look exactly like my blog (my header is not complete, I can’t see my sidebar), but it’s not disturbing, there is a preview tab that let’s you see your post, so it’s ok. You just type your title and then start to enter your post.

I still don’t know at this time how will look the post. I encourage you to check the link and read Matt’s post since he’s sharing the keyboard shortcuts he uses to access the functionalities of the software faster. You can set categories, enter your keywords (maybe that’s the tags and not the keywords to enter in the ALL in One SEO pack box)

Okay, I’m ready to publish, will see ;)

New 30 Day Challenge Before Christmas

Hey everyone,  so after I complete my 30 day blogging challenge, I decided to set a new one which was about the same, adding one blog post per day, but this time to a monetized niche website, unlike this one which is just more information oriented I spent the last two days, planning, researching and compiling some datas to work from, and here’s my plan…

I’m not going to update 1 blog per day, but 3. And I think it’s going to be easy. Again that’s a SMART goal in 30 days I will have 3 blogs with each 30 more posts published on them.

2 blogs are already indexed, 1 will be started from scratch. Here’s the plan for each.

  1. One of the blog already indexed is in the top 3 results in Google for its 3 main keywords. It’s been there for months and maybe 2 years, competition is still low. I’m going to add related offers, in the same niche. Since it’s Christmas there are tons of great deals, free gifts and promos coming, that’s true for so many physical products sites. I’m just going to add one deal a day, very fast, and many buyer keywords!
  2. The other indexed blog is in the fitness niche. I have already reviews written for both physical products and info products. I’m going to add posts with videos from YouTube. Simply adding workout videos and commenting/trascripting them so I don’t just copy and paste the code, I also want to add text so my keywords are also in the post. I’ll link the posts to the reviews or equipment needed for example with my affiliate links.
  3. The third blog has no content, and never been developped. I registered the domain loooong ago but never did anything with it. It’s also in the fitness niche, fat loss more precisely. I have compiled keywords I want to write about, or actually… what I and a writer will write too. I’m going to outsource about 15 articles first, and maybe more for article marketing since I’ll have some backlinking job to do.

So really, the content creation is just going to be for that third blog and just one per day. If you think about it, when you’re focused on 3 blog/articles per day, especially when you planned ahead, this can be really easy and fast.

What’s your challenge?

What’s your plan?

Christmas is in 30 days, so even with one blog properly monetized you can make some nice bucks.

Have you chosen a physical product? Go on Amazon, select a toy for kids, a bestselling electronics, kitchen appliances, most wished for, most gifted… Write around buyer keywords and backlink there.

Okay I’m ready to work now,

Stay FOCUS!

30 Day Blogging Challenge Success And Results

Wow, I made it, my 30 day blogging challenge is over. I added one blog post per day to this blog, I enjoyed it. Did you? I know I’m not talking to a lot of people, between 4 to 8 persons actually. That’s what my Analytics report shows me.

So does adding more content to your blog daily brings you more traffic, well yes, but it is certainly not that much. I’m sure I provided quality content, shared a lot of free stuff, tips and all. Maybe 3 affiliate promotions over a month, how many did you get in your email from your favorite guru?

So here’s proof I reached the 174 published posts mark, actually 181, this one you’re reading being a draft and doesn’t really count:

30 Day Blogging Challenge End

Well the results are here:

Before starting the challenge, I got 62 unique visits, 87 page views for the 30 previous days.

At the end of this challenge…

I have 94 unique visits and 135 page views. So impressive, a very high peak of 8 visitors on November 9th… Really nothing to be proud about, anyway I never have seen this blog as being my main money maker, just sharing some informations about internet marketing.

I didn’t have any comment, other than spam.

That’s still over 50% more unique visits, 55% more page views. So if these improvement were to be the same on a more visited blog then it would be very interesting.

But even on a low traffic blog like this one, traffic can be monetized, I just don’t have ads flashing everywhere or affiliate links in all posts. It’s not optimized for monetization.

If it was, then even 94 targeted unique visits can lead to some money. Though I can not be SUPER happy with the fact that blogging each day here, someitmes posting more than once a day only got me just 1 more visitor a day, I succeed on my initial challenge.

  • Did I add one blog post each day? YES
  • Did it bring more traffic? YES

If you haven’t seen my previous post about Chris Rempel’s 72 hours offer (affiliate video reviews), he had a website generating $400 a month from 7 visits a day on average, so again, even with low traffic you can make money providing you have high converting elements on your web pages.

So what’s next?

Well for you I don’t know, I asked at the beginning of the challenge that you should challenge yourself too, for the same goal or something different and then we could share our experience. But anyway, you, one of my 4-8 visitors didn’t tell me anything about that.

But I’ll be happy to hear your thoughts and experience from previous and future challenge you set to yourself.

For me, another challenge is waiting for me, it’s going to be almost the same. Adding one more blog post per day to a blog, except this time it will be optimized for conversions and I’ll see my results. No, sorry, I’m not sharing my niches and the products I’m promoting, there are tons out there and I actually promote any kind of product and services. Just take acion on something you know people buy. Simple right?

I’ll try to update this blog at the same time, maybe less often but at least twice a week to tell you about what I’m doing and my results, I hope this may still get me some more traffic this time, and above all help others. It’s becoming another point I want to develop, giving to others. The more you give, the more you get as they say.

Plus, Christmas is in 33 days, so another 30 day challenge is just right for me. I have some work to do now, since I need to figure if I do this on an existing blog or a brand new one, from scratch, which will require backlinking in addition to content creation.

For next year, I’ll be doing more case studies like these. I find it’s a very good way to keep motivation, especially when you make it a challenge. It becomes a goal, and if you set SMART goals you should be able to achieve them all. If you take action.

Impossible is nothing (adidas), Just do it (Nike). So everyone is happy.

2 Weeks Before 30 Days Blogging Challenge Success

Okay, I’m saying success and it’s not over, if you don’t know what I’m talking about I’ve chanllenged myself to write at least one blog post per day for 30 days. So on November 22nd I should have 174 posts published on my blog. I’m currently already at 169 with this one.

The goal is not really in the number of published posts but in the daily postings. So I plan to follow up and deliver some stuff. This is my post for today, I have not really anything to say but that’s a post I have to make. So there may be a lesson here and that’s the one of making your challenge public.

When you do this everyone knows about it and will know if you fail so… I don’t want to fail this and plan to succeed.

This is a little goal to achieve, so in my next posts we’ll discuss goal settings, and achieving those.

Take care,

Tom

WP Easy Content Plugin – Unique Content Sites In Minutes

Hey everyone, hope you’re having a great week end. I guess some of you ware celebrating Halloween early too. Few days ago, I blogged about a optimizing duplicate content for autoblogging purposes with a plugin called WP Easy Content by Oz. The plugin helps you create more unique content sites from articles you can republish, quickly.

I told you I would buy it and give you my first results, so I bought it. Though it may actually be too early to provide some real results the plugin does the job very well.

So as a reminder, Oz made a test of adding unique content around an article you republish. So you add one, two or three paragraphs before and after an article and it becomes more unique. It doens’t break any TOS since you keep the article intact, and Google will see your version is optimized compared to all the other versions distributed on every other article directories.

WP Easy Content allows you to do this automatically in minutes. You can specify keywords for each article, and create text blocks (your unique paragraphs) that will surround the articles. You can also choose to have randomly selected text blocks so at any visit your content is changing (not the article republished), and it seems your page content is always changing.

Well there are few twists to this method that I can’t reveal here, however you can already test this for yourself. Do this process manually and you can already create full sites with republished content that you repotimize with a bit of unique content in 2 or 3 hours. Oz call the articles you republish “Freemium Content”, because it’s free premium content.

Now I’m sure I’ll get results from this plugin and will have more to share about it. I may even give you the site I applied this too but I’m doing some more test .

But if you want the plugin and make it work, you have to get it now. The first time I mentioned this plugin I told you the price will increase to $67 or $97 on November 1st. And it will! Mostly because there’s going to be a version 2.0 release that will give even more power to this method, and more automation too. The upgrade will be free, so get your version 1.0 now and save.

Check WP Easy Content.

P.S: If you want to see first what kind of stuff Oz releases online, you may check his RAMOS report for only $2 (an affiliate marketing game changer, no joke), or download his free SEOn Trial report (SEO case study, ranking with no content).

Blog Blueprint – Will You Really Make Money Autoblogging?

So in my previous post I told you I would say what I think of Blog BluePrint. Another autoblogging training, another autoblog plugin? Basically yes, and no. Yes there is training and plugins, no because there’s more than just that.

This is not a review because other systems are currently in my sight, this is my opinion of what I feel about this and what I know from the stuff the creators (Jason Potash and Jason Katzenback) are used to release. They actually have launched few automation services and software that work well and their members truly like what they do. I am, so I can tell you what I think Blog Blueprint is about, and if it is worth your money.

Here’s what included:

  • Auto Blog Buddy

I put this at the top of the list because I think this is the critical part of the system. This is the actual plugin that will publish content automatically to your blog. And the content is not crap, it’s humanly reviewed.

Here’s what I think. I already autoblogged with one of their service: Syndicate Kahuna. They have a database of writers (paid subscribers) who send articles to the system. As a website owner (free, but now closed) I add my website to the system and then needed to upload a little file to my ftp server and then start receiving articles to my blog. It wasn’t really a WordPress plugin as I didn’t have to upload it in the plugin folder but the root folder.

It may have changed now and you’ll get a better WordPress plugin that does more than just publishing articles, videos too and probably more than that.

  • Auto Blog Installer

Setting up an autoblog is not hard, and it’s quite fast. So why not install more? This tool allows you to install multiple blogs at a time and in few clicks. Like a mass installer. This installs blogs in minutes with premium themes and plugins all configured for better SEO. Not just the blogs and then you have to upload all your plugins to all your blogs. Everything set up in minutes . Cool.

  • Keyword Corral Pro

There is a Keyword Corral free version that you can get so you can already see what it does. I’ve used it and it’s good. This is a keyword research that will tell you what are the best keywords to go after. When I say best I mean keywords that make money. Low competition with traffic and big profits.

  • Web Page Analyzer

This is a very interesting addon to the system. This analyzer is like an SEO analyst and will tell you how you can better optimize your content scanning your page elements and comparing to the competition. Nice to see this included as I know other similar tools that cost more than the whole package.

  • Content Spinner

I guess you know all what a content spinner is. This one is going to spin your content for more uniqueness. If you have tons of PLR articles that you would like spin and then add to your autoblogs then that’s a quick solution to do it.

  • Blog Blueprint Training

Well nothing particular to say about that. This is going to walk you through the process of setting up autoblogs and have them make you money.

Fast Action Bonuses

Well I don’t know if they say these are fast action bonuses to use some sense of urgency before these addons disappear but they’re worth it too.

  • Ping.FM accounts creator and Social Linker

These two tools will automatically create backlinks for you on social media and network sites. Ping.fm is a free site you can already use to update all your social networks status in one place. But if you have multiple blogs in multiple niches you will need more accounts created, so the account creator will save ou some precious time. Automation is always cool.

The social linker will backlink your posts to social sites, but they have built this so it is not spammy and everything looks natural. That’s a great feature to not have your blogs or accounts banned on these sites, and it save you the hassle of building links manually.

So what do I think about it? Is it worth the money?

Considering the number of plugins that cost way more than Blog BluePrint ($67) and training out there that promises you to make money automatically with super underground software which actually suck, the two Jasons (Potash and Katzenback) tell you exactly what you get and there’s not too much hype on their sales page.

Blog Blueprint include the training, the plugins to set up autoblogs, but also the softwares to optimize your blogs, get more “money traffic” and above all automatic marketing. There is true automation in this system and for the price this is really an option you should look at.

I definitely think that this system will make you money because you will have blogs that look great and not crappy sites a 2 year old have designed. You will have blogs that have monetization in mind and they receive traffic too. And they’re built and configured automatically. So I’d say yes, it is worth the money.

Check out Blog BluePrint

Autoblogging Blunders Free Report

Hi guys and gals, I have a link for you to grab a free report about autoblogging called Autoblogging Blunders. It’s from Jason Potash and Jason Katzenback and it’s loaded with some really cool content you should learn about if you want an autoblogging business, or maybe already have one.

They have just launched their Blog Blueprint system, a total solution for autoblogging. You may want to check this out, it seems decent, I’ll tell you what I think about it in my next post but I actually wanted you to grab the free report.

I thought that Blog Blueprint would be an eBook, like step by step to set up autoblogs, but it’s actually made of softwares, keyword research program, plugins for WordPress, content spinner, social bookmarking automation, monetization and more stuff and it’s $67 which is quite low.

So well that’s it the first link above is for the free autoblogging report (Autoblogging Blunders), and the second for the system.

Testing Free Autoblog Plugins

Hey folks, so I told you about some free autoblog plugins (chek my post Autoblog Plugins – Paid and Free for links and description) and say I would test some. Well I didn’t have too much time to see if they work on a long term basis but I can tell you about what I’ve seen. I’ve made a tes on a domain I didn’t use with a WordPress install, so it’s the latest version 3.0.1.

  • WP-o-Matic

It is supposed to not work above WordPress 2.6 but I’ve been able to publish posts. WP-o-Matic publishes posts from RSS feeds. But if you want to have posts published on a regular basis you’ll have to set up a cron job. I didn’t, but just by running the update I got news and rss feeds published. You really have to see if this works for you, but the other ones are better.

  • WPArticleFetch

It works exactly as described on their website (watch the video). You choose categories, keywords set frequency and number of posts and it grabs articles. Remember it removes all links from articles, and you should know than republishing articles suppose you leave all links intact. But it’s easy to use and works perfectly.

  • MultiPress Content Lite

This one looked the most complete one and yes, it does work as it says. Publish RSS, articles and Yahoo! Answers. The one thing I found stranger was the date posts were published. It seems the date of the original published date of the media is the one you’ll get. I got Yahoo Answers from 4 years ago. Not a big deal, and you can customize all settings so you get just new updates on the same day.

You need to check this one as it really is a little gem, it could have been a paid product but it’s free so if you want to play with free plugins before going to some advanced paid autoblog plugins this is a nice one. You can also customize post templates to have post display the way you want.

  • EazePress

Nothing to say… this is WP-o-Matic. I thought it was something else but nope, the interface is exactly the same. Their website said it was working to WordPress 2.9 but again it worked for me on 3.0.1. I was about to not test it after seeing the exact same interface of WP-o-Matic but then remembered the EazePress site said it was the ONLY plugin to publish full text from RSS feeds.

Well it seems to use Wizard RSS that extracts full RSS from partial to full text RSS. It adds a Powered by WizardRSS link. But actually… another message on top of posts says [WizardRSS: unable to retrieve full-text content]. So it doesn’t seems to be worth it? I’ll update my previous post.

  • WP-YA Grabber

I had a very good feeling about this one but wasn’t able to test it. But I’m sure it works… if I can download it. I thought I did but I didn’t since I can’t find it on my hard drive. I wanted to go back to the website but it looks down at the moment.

That’s it for now. My recommendation is thus MultiPress Content Lite, I didn’t find a link to a Pro version as I thought there would be. Well the free version should give you some nice time to play with. Spending few hours to master it may give you some good results, don’t be lazy. I also recommend you check bumblesoft WP-YA Grabber, I will again and see if I can get it to work. If you don’t mind getting a bit blackhat, WPArticleFetch works fine too.

In my previous update I also said I’ll add another one but for this one I need time to have results to tell you.

It’s 11pm here, that’s 23:00 in France and my work day should be over, but hey I work my own hours right? That’s beautiful.

See you tomorrow!

Autoblog Plugins – Free List Updated

I’ve just updated the list of autoblog plugins with another free plugin that looks good on the paper since it can publish from multiple sources. I will add another one (free again) later today.

This entry is very short but I wanted to be sure you don’t miss it. It’s free so test it and see if it works for you. I may start to try some myself today. Will report back.

Have a great day.
