International Affiliate Marketing – Untapped Niche Markets!

Hey friends, hope you’re great today, we’ll talk about developping affiliate sites in foreign languages to make tons of money from untapped niche markets. And actually, these markets can be really huge, but the competition is so low that it’s super easy to rank your sites and get easy commissions.

Yesterday I blogged again about the pre-launch content you can get from Dan Brock, who’s going to launch Deadbeat Super Affiliate, an upgraded version of his great Amazon course ProfitZon.

In this free training you can watch videos and download free reports, one being the Google Proof Product Review Formula and the other one, an affiliate marketing foreign guide. And that’s great, I mean it. PLEASE download it.

What Dan says about people being afraid of selling in foreign markets is true. You may know I’m french. But ALL of my websites target the US markets. They’re all in plain English. I’ve started building sites for ClickBank products (which now also have products in spanish, french, german…), and then for physical products.

I never really considered promoting affiliate offers in French. Just though about it but did nothing.

I guess I had to see it to be convinced I need to go after foreign markets, or for me, local markets that don’t really have this much competition. You may think I have an advantage because I speak french so it’s easier for me to develop websites in French.

This is ture in terms of speaking it, writing it, doing it myself. But it’s easier for you too in terms of competition. In his free training Dan shows you how to hire someone who can do the job in the language you want. And in fact, it’s exactly the same as outsourcing to someone in English. He even provides the instructions to give to your writer.

These people who speak another language, speak English too. So you can give them your instructions in English and they will do the work in German if, like Dan, you want review sites in German.

It’s not hard at all. And I sarmly recommend you take action on this. Again, many people are afraid of selling in foreign markets. And if you’ve been marketing online for some time, you know most people don’t take action from the knowledge they get.

So… just do it.

Now an interesting point Dan is sharing is the SEO part. Search engine competition is low, definitely. You should grab a domain with an extension specific to the language. And for better geo-targetting it is recommended you find a host in the foreign country you plan to launch your sites. That’s true, it’s better.

Well, here are my observations.

I just went through the process Dan talks about in his guide of selecting a product from Amazon.fr and then just analyzed competition quickly with SEOQuake.

The keyword is not the specific product name, but just the generic product type, like espresso machine, though it’s something else, 3 word phrase that gets 6600 seaches per month, exact match.

Well in the first 10 results of Google, I’ve found two websites, one with 5 pages of content (I’d say 300 words on each page, somtimes less) and another with about 10 pages.

  • One domain has 2 hypens in it and a.fr extension, the other has “123.net” at the end of the exact keyword.
  • The .fr is registered with a french hosting company, the .net is registered at GoDaddy with servers in the US.
  • The .fr has 22 backlinks, the .net has 51 backlinks (some really excellent, PR7, PR5, PR3…).
  • The .fr is number 9, the .net is number 8.
  • Other sites in the top 10 are forums and price comparators.
  • The first result has no backlinks and a PR of 1. The 3 rd result got 164 backlinks but every other has almost nothing (either 0 and maximum 7)

My first conclusion would be…

You can still have hosting in the US, providing you get the exact keyword in your domain and get quality backlinks. It looks easier with a site hosted in the targeted country. You don’t need much backlinks to get ranked for a keyword that receives a very nice amount of traffic.

Now another point I want to add, and it’s just from my own experience. I have seen German or UK sites ranking very well in Google France results for some product searches. So if you want to target several foreign markets, UK, Germany, France and Spain, don’t get a hosting provider for all. You may do certainly very well with one host in Germany for all your European sites.

If you think about it, London, Paris, Berlin and Madrid are geographically closer than New York and Los Angeles…

Well anyway, that free training is pure gold and can get you a nice income very fast. Hey, CHRISTMAS is coming. Even if you don’t get an European host why not try it. Watch the video and download the guide now. Deadbeat Super Affiliate launches today so it may be too late to get your hands on that cool stuff.

How To Write Product Reviews That Convert – Free Affiliate Training

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know about some free affiliate training you can get from Dan Brock, here. There’s one video and more importantly a free report (Google Proof Product Review Formula) to download that tells you everything on how to write product reviews that convert. Killer product reviews!

Actually this free training is part of the prelaunch of his upcoming launch of Deadbeat Super Affiliate, on Tuesday, November 2nd. So either you buy that affiliate marketing course or not, I URGE you to take advantage of that free affiliate training!!!

Dan Brock is an affiliate marketer and his methods work. I know this because I’ve studied his stuff. He’s teaching promoting physical products, from Amazon, and make a killing from it.

Though Amazon may have low commission rates they know everything to have a converting website. So if you can write killer product reviews and drive traffic to the Amazon page, then you can make a 5 figure income from Amazon.

Currently there are 3 videos you can watch before the Deadbeat Super Affiliate is launched, the free training may be down then. So really, sign up for the free training here, and download the Google Proof Product Review Formula.

Not only it tells you how to write great reviews, it also teaches how to have your website to attract free buyer traffic. It’s really a no brainer, I’ve read it and I’m glad I did. Because even if you don’t promote products from Amazon you can still apply the method and layout of the review to any other website.

Okay, just get the free training, download the Google Proof Product Review Formula here.

P.S: the next part called “untapped niche markets” is also very interesting, another report to download too. The idea shared is about targetting foreign markets where competition is SUPER low. You’ll enjoy that too.

Autoblogging Blunders Free Report

Hi guys and gals, I have a link for you to grab a free report about autoblogging called Autoblogging Blunders. It’s from Jason Potash and Jason Katzenback and it’s loaded with some really cool content you should learn about if you want an autoblogging business, or maybe already have one.

They have just launched their Blog Blueprint system, a total solution for autoblogging. You may want to check this out, it seems decent, I’ll tell you what I think about it in my next post but I actually wanted you to grab the free report.

I thought that Blog Blueprint would be an eBook, like step by step to set up autoblogs, but it’s actually made of softwares, keyword research program, plugins for WordPress, content spinner, social bookmarking automation, monetization and more stuff and it’s $67 which is quite low.

So well that’s it the first link above is for the free autoblogging report (Autoblogging Blunders), and the second for the system.

Instant Internet Lifestyle – Low Price For REAL Internet Marketing

Hey folks hope you’re doing great. I just wanted to tell you about Instant Internet Lifestyle by LeeMcIntyre. Lee always release some great stuff, if you have already visited his blog or subscribe to his newsletter you may know how much great content he gives away for free.

I wanted to tell you about it because this training should be priced way higher, but it’s just $19.95. One time payment. No recurring fees.

That’s it, if you already have some good marketing training then stick with it until you get results and don’t jump on every opportunity that pops up. But if you seems you don’t have found something that gives you real value then Lee’s course is something that you can rely on for years and indeed make money, a lot of money.

He’s been a real success story, making real income after his first month online, so he knows what you may encounter right now. Plus, he’s a great teacher and that’s really an amazing advantage for you. He’s someone you can trust.

Lee is quite a big name and you’d be right to expect this kind of marketers release only items with a 3 or4 figures price tag but that’s not the case and if you want to get a training you can rely on for years, without going for another internet marketing course, then I highly recommend you check Instant Internet Lifestyle.

AutoBlogging – What Are Your Options For Optimized Duplicate Content?

Okay, so my last post was about making money with duplicate content and we saw that if your website had more authority than others (like article directories), then your website is going to be prefered by search engines and voted the most relevant. That’s actually how article directories are ranking in Google for the same exact content.

Now, if writing content is not where the work is since you don’t have to write a sing le word, then your work is to build backlinks so it gain a bit of trust and become the authority. It would be better to have specific niche autoblogs so all your content is relevant, and you don’t go compete with eZineArticles, at least for your domain, instead of tons of different topics (I may be wrong, I know). For inner pages (or actually posts) you’ll still have to build backlinks there.

Again republishing content is not going to get you penalized, banned from Google index. There is no duplicate content penalty in that way. Your version is simply not going to be listed in the results since it’s the same as the original and no more relevant for the user.

If you find content that is ranking well without too much backlinks, then you can republish it and build few backlinks there to see if you can outrank it. Try it, make your own experiments and conclusions.

Or you can optimize that content.

Remember, you can’t change anything in the article itself. But you can change things around or in the background to have your site ranks in place of the original versions. So, here are  two autoblog plugins for WordPress that will take care of it for you, they are both different but boh effective.

WP Unique

Okay WPUnique is not really an autoblogging plugin. It will not publish articles automaticall on your blog. But this one is a kind of magic.

WP Unique is a plugin by Steven Fullman, and what it does is encoding your blog posts so they look unique to search engines. To the reader both version are exactly the same but in the source code the content is not readable, at least by us. But to search engines it is.

WPUnique has been launched a year ago, and is regularly upgraded and still works like a charm. I encourage you to watch the videos on WPUnique website to discover the features. You can now choose to make all your posts unique, convert keywords to affiliate links automatically, and even auto-spin the content. So each time you refresh a blog post it appears different.

This is an awesome plugin. If you want to build some easy niche blogs without hard work then get this. It will work with any auto blog plugins. I think I’m going to get it since it’s quite cheap and I will make it work with an autoblog plugin that publish Amazon products. So I’ll try to rank better than Amazon for products people want to buy!

Check out WPUnique, there are videos explaining it all.

There is an upsell for the developper license at $127, so you can sell your websites! Now this can be a huge opportunity to create sites super quickly with no content writing work on your part! It they rank and get traffic then you already can sell it for some nice money, even without revenue!

WP Easy Content (aka WP Content Re-Optimizer)

This one is a great one too that I’m probably going to buy before November 1st. Because I know from the author price is going to raise at this date. The author is Oz, I’ve told you about him and his great RAMOS report (still under $2) and free SEOn Trial report.

What WP Easy Content does is reoptimizing your content. It will republish articles with just adding a paragraph or  two before and after the article.

“But I thought you have to leave the article intact.”

That’s correct! And the plugin does it for you automatically, it comes with preset text blocks that you can modify for your keywords. Between these text blocks is the title and the article completely untouched. But you have a bit more optimized content around it. It doesn’t break any TOS and your content looks better, a bit more unique, for search engines so you get some better rankings.

In the new version of WP Easy Content everything is done automatically. Importing content from multiple sources, yes this one is a n autoblogging plugin) and adding the text blocks. If you think about it you can do this manually too! That’s what Oz tried before releasing this plugin, and it worked.

So even if you don’t purchase the plugin, you can build few sites very easily and very fast. Just write a couple paragraphs, copy and paste an article in between and you’re done. In one day you could have 2 or 3, and even more sites completely done if you do it manually.

With WP Easy Content you build them in minutes.

Get WP Easy Content now, currently at $47, it will increase to $67 or $97 on November 1st.

Okay so the two plugins above are taking content and make it look more unique to search engines. They are both warmly recommended. I’ll give you my review soon of both but I can assure you they received great feedback from users and both authors provide excellent customer service.

In my next post I’ll tell you more about other autoblog plugins, some paid… some FREE!

Can You Make An Income From Duplicate Content?

Yesterday I blogged about article marketing and duplicate content. So we viewed that you can market your website with articles and have the same content on your website. If the articles link to your website then it shows search engines your website is the original version and they should favor your version in the results.

But can you use others content and build a website that can make you money. The short answer is yes. People who make autoblogs usually use and exclusively use duplicate content. Plugins grab content from different sources and publish these on your blog. This can be articles of course, as well as YouTube videos, Yahoo! Answers, Amazon products, eBay listings…

All this content is of course duplicate content. If you manage to get traffic to your website you can make money. And if you can’t afford autoblogging plugins (I’ll post about some later), you can publish articles yourself, manually. For articles, republishing suppose that you keep the articles intact, keeping all the text and links.

You can then promote your duplicate content sites normally as you would for your own unique content. If you build good quality backlinks to your website,

You can own a mini article directory in a specific niche. If you think about it, article marketers submit their articles to multiple article directories, so there are duplicate content already out there. Your website is just  hosting this content at another place. Of course, your job would be to make your website the authority for this content so it receives traffic.

Now, you can already know what content is already ranking. If you can see an eZineArticles article ranking on the first page of Google for a keyword, you could tryto outrank it. Just check the number of backlinks. Use SEOQuake (a firefox plugin) to know how many backlinks are pointing to the EzineArticles, and maybe you can republish it with more backlinks on your website.

It would be interesting to make a case study. But basically, you know that search engines serve the most relevant results for a given search. Then it determines which has enough authority to rank. If that content ranks well elsewhere, it should rank well on your site, so build backlinks.

Your monetization methods:

  • AdSense (can pay good money if you target high paying keywords, take some with at least a $0.50 cpc)
  • Other contextual ad networks
  • Amazon
  • Affiliate programs
  • CPA offers

…actually, any kind of monetization that you would use for your own site.

I’ll have to expand on this further, with a case study as I said, and talking about autoblogging plugins too. Also, on ranking with duplicate content, you may also download the free SEOn Trial report which will show you a website could rank with no content.

See ya soon!

SEO Case Study and Judgement – SEOn Trial

Hello world again, hope you enjoyed my latest posts about article marketing, today I’d like to mention an SEO case study: SEOn Trial.

If you’ve been reading me since I came back to blogging here, you may have read about RAMOS (Revolutionary Affiliate Marketing on Steroids) which is truly revolutionary. It only costs $1.97. It tells you the truth about affiliate marketing (the good, bad and ugly stuff) and how to finally enter an inner circle of marketers, promote only quality products, get paid even if people don’t buy from your links, get paid even when you don’t promote the product.

Do the work once and earn forever.

This is really a great report and you can actually start earning money from today. If you have a list, facebook or twitter account you can see money rolling in right now.

Okay this post doesn’t seem to be about an SEO case study. Let me correct this now.

The author of RAMOS, Oz, made an SEO case study last year, and added few updates during this year, and with still accurate infos. It’s SEOn Trial, a short and free report that will highlight the real power of content (nope, not what you think), and the value of backlinks.

If you have readand joined RAMOS then you already know the quality you’re getting from the miserable $2 you spent. SEOn Trial sold for $37 when released, you get it free now.

I’ll quote the opening statement:

“It is possible to rank No. 1 On Google (with over 100 million competing results) with a web page that has no content whatsoever.”

Oz proves it. Again it shows how doing not too much work can lead to high rankings, even with millions of competing sites. This is free so jump on it, it’s all quality. Don’t take my word and see for yourself.

Article Marketing and Duplicate Content

Okay so my post about article marketing super basics was just that, basics. I want to talk about article marketing and duplicate content. I don’t know what you know about it but you may be scared about duplicate content. However I can assure you, it will not eat you, it’s not a big hungry monster.

So what can you consider duplicate content?

Well this is the same content published at different locations on the web.

Is this a problem?

Yes and No. Yes, if you publish twice the same article on your website or blog. There is actually no point for you to do it, and Google may think “Hmm, is this guy trying to spam the index?”

So, don’t publish the same content on your website twice, once is enough.

No, it’s not a problem if you publish your article on your website and then to article directories, as long as these articles will point to the original version on your website.

Why?

Well, if Google finds that the original first version was on eZineArticles, then your blog post is the copy, even if it’s not true. But eZineArticles may get indexed faster than your blog post. So some people will prefer to wait that there blog post is indexed before submitting the same content to article directories. I’m not sure it is necessary.

If all article directories link to your blog post, then they are passing the authority to the blog post. They’re telling Google, we’re “voting fot this website”. And Google should favor your blog.

Now, remember if you’re marketing your website with articles, the purpose is to gain backlinks, so actually, even if the content is the same, you don’t really care if the articles don’t show in the results for the search query.

Let me explain with an example.

You have submitted the same article to 300 article directories, you have done what it takes to optimize the article at its best. The article got approved everywhere and you did what it takes to have Google find out about every location it is on. Cool.

Let’s say your article is the most relevant content in the eyes of Google. Then the article is going to rank first for the keyword you optimized it for. But since it is the most relevant content, it could also rank number 2, 3, 4 etc. until 300 article directories are listed.

Well it doesn’t work like that, FORTUNATELY, or search engines job would be worthless. Search engines job is to serve the most relevant content to your search query. By showing you 300 times the same content they’re not really optimizing your experience.

So Google determines which article has the most authority for that same content. Let’s say it finds out it is eZineArticles, and the article there rank first. Google still knows about other article directories and has counted them, with the backlinks to your blog post.

However it will not include the other article directories, since you already got that information served.

Then, all the backlinks have shown your blog post was the authority since 300 sites were linking to that version of the article. You get the boost and become the authority. You may not rank as high as eZineArticles because of the domain power they have (age, backlinks, content indexed…)

Of course, SEO is a consistent game.

You can of course submit the same article to article drectories and have different and completely unique content on your website. That’s certainly the best thing to do, though it requires more work.

What about article spinning?

Spining content was made to have enough unique content so search engines can serve multiple version of your articles.

As we saw, Google will serve one version of your content, if it finds the same version elsewhere then there is no interest for the end user, this result is omitted.

So spinning an article allows you to make your article unique enough so Google doesn’t see it as a duplicate version. So for the same keyword, your article can be listed more than once. You may see eZineArticles on first page, ArticleBase and ArticleSnatch on page 2, Goarticles on page 3.

The purpose is to get more traffic.

Is it worth it?

Again, Yes and No. Yes you may get more traffic, but it takes time to rewrite and spin an article. If you focus your time on how to write articles in 10 minutes or less then you may have more articles to submit. If you decide to spin all your articles, you’re not writing for another keyword.

Basically you optimize for one keyword, so the same people who saw your eZineArticles will see the one on ArticlesBase, etc.

I have to admit I used content spinner and they certainly are useful, I know many others will say it’s not but I think they can be very effective. The best spinner is… The Best Spinner. It’s $84 a year I think, there are many others but this one is super easy to use and is super fast at creating multiple versions.

I came accross another product: Content Professor. It seems to do the same but it is web based. It’s still in beta version so you can join for free and use it. I’m trying it now and it seems to work well.

Now for simple article marketing use, I’m not sure it is al worth it if you want to link to your website. Sure your article will show more than once but with time, rankings start to fade.

EXCEPT IF you boost them. Now this is how spinning can be interesting. See it like this:

You write only one article. Spin it. Distribute it. Backlink 5 to 10 versions. If you think you can acquire 100 backlinks for each version of your article and these versions are all unique enough, then they may all rank very well. If you can get these 5 to 10 locations to rank on page one and 2 that’s certainly a great thing.

Now you also have to keep in mind that when you write one article, you do it to optimize for one keyword, maybe two. So you certainly want to choose keywords that get enough traffic, buying keywords with good traffic even better.

There is also some other use of article spinning that we’ll see in a future post.

BUT I hear you say, why not acquire backlinks for my own website. And you’d be right too. You can certainly write 5 to 10 articles to publish on your website and acquire 100 backlinks for each. You may need more backlinks depending on the competition you’re facing but this way, you’re promoting your website, your business. That’s a smart thing to do.

So what to do? Well I’ll send you back to the article marketing super basics post. I told you it depends on what you want to do. If you want to build an authority website, you’ll need quality content and backlinks to your pages. If you want to boost your articles, you’ll need to backlink them, and may not need to optimize your website for search engines. You’ll get traffic from article directories.

  • To sum up, you can submit the same article to multiple article directories
  • You can’t publish twice the same article on your website
  • You decide what website should get a boost, your own or the article directory, depending on your goal

Enough for today.

30 Days Blogging Challenge

Hello world, since it seems I’m blogging a bit these days, maybe I should challenge myself to write at least one blog post per day here on Internet Marketing Trip. I wanted to announce it yesterday, before my article marketing super basics but I forgot to. So the first day is today and the first post to count will be the next one.

Welcome to the 30 Days Blogging Challenge

This is something I already thought about in the past and maybe I even already tried it. Anyway, making a challenge public is supposed to force you to achieve it because you don’t want to fail publicly. If you’re starting online and have a blog, why not do the same? You can tell me about your blog in the comment and we can motivate each others.

If you don’t know what to blog about, you may simply tell your readers what you’ve been doing the previous day and share your progress as you go. If you’re not really into internet marketing and don’t really care about making an online income, you may have to do some keyword research and check what people interested in your topic are looking for.

Why not ask them in your challenge announcement?

What do you want me to write about?

Of course you need some traffic to have people answer your question.

  • Do you have a facebook, twitter account? Then ask your friends to visit your blog and give you ideas.
  • Visit article directories such as eZineArticles and search for your topic it will show you what others are writing about.
  • Visit forums related to your topic (search Google: your keyword forum) and see what people are talking or are asking about. You may even join the forum and engage in conversation. Then tell them you have written that post on your blog to help them.
  • Go to Yahoo! Answers. There are tons of people questionning about any kind of subjects. This will give you ides, you can of course answer those questions and provide the full URL to your blog post.
  • Go to YouTube. Informative videos can be considered as articles, in another format. But still they are giving information to people. Why not write an article from the knowledge you get there.
  • You can blog about other blogs. Maybe you are subscribed to a newsletter and the guy pblished a very interesting post that you know will benefit others. You may also visit a certain blog frequently and want to mention the author that does a great job.

Okay this should be enough to provide you some ideas, I should have titled that pos how to got tons of ideas for your blog posts or articles ;)

So I engage in blogging every day for one month, and on November 22nd I should have 30 more posts added to this blog which currently counts 143 published posts, 144 with this one. So my goal is to show you 174 posts next month. And maybe there would be some unexpected results too.

30 Days Blogging Challenge

An habit becomes a habit when you repeat it enough so it becomes a routine. The average is 21 days, so by doing it every day I may become a blogger…

See you in the first step;)

Article Marketing Super Basics

I think it’s time again to talk about article marketing, a very basic method to get backlinks to your sites and blogs. This is an SEO technique that I’ve started with, and I still do today. I mentioned it in my yesterday’s post. By the way, I didn’t have any comment for my last post so maybe nobody read it, which would not surprise me.

If you still haven’t done so, you must check RAMOS, the Revolutionary Affiliate Marketing On Steroids report. Really revolutionary. No crap and a whole new world of possibilities. Please do check it out, less than $2. Crazy.

Today’s update is about another subject, article marketing. Hey that’s a third post in 3 days. Wow! Outstanding. I know.

Well, tons of stuff have been written on the subject, and I will tell you what has been working for me in the past and today. And guess what, fundamentals always apply.

I’m not going to go into keyword research, competition analysis, beacause in the end you can rank for almost any keyword. In a search engine optimization perspective, you have the same work to do, but for competitive terms you may need more work. That often means more backlinks from a wide variety of source and preferably from relevant, on topic pages.

There are two ways you can see Article Marketing:

1. To boost your website rankings
2. To get traffic directly to the article (and then whatever pages it links to)

I. Boost your website rankings

So, we saw that article marketing is an SEO technique, because article directories you submit your articles to will have links to your own website. And the more links you get to your website, the higher your rankings will be.

Thie last sentence remains true for all other backlinkging strategies. But for this article an for niche website this can be enough. We’ll talk about other strategies later.

What happens when you submit your article to article directories:

1. Your article is approved.

Depending on the authority of the article directory, it may take some time for your article to get indexed (included in the search engine index). Your article will also show in the sarch engine results for the keywords you optimized the article for. Again the rankings of your article depend on the authority of the article directory.

2. When your article is indexed, the link to your website is also indexed.

As you may know, links count as votes for your website in the eye of search engines. The more links you get, the more votes for your websites.

3. Search engines count the number of backlinks (how many articles yo submitted), see what keywords you used to backlink to your pages (the anchor text), and where the backlinks come from (articles directory with authority, content relevant to your site topic/keyword). Your site receives a boost.

Now for the biggest boost possible, you need more backlinks. So write more backlinks, use the same keyword anchor text to optimize the page for that keyword. With more and more articles you can also use different keywords.

  • Here’s a concrete example:

You want your website to be renking for the keyword weight loss programs

So, you may have this keyword in the domain name, in the title, in the meta descritpion, in the content… All the great places it needs to appear. That’s basic on page SEO.

Your Off page SEO work consists of writing articles about weight loss programs and other weight loss keywords. In the resource box you will link to your article using the anchor text weight loss programs. The keyword you want to rank for, remember.

In HTML, you would add this : <a href=”http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com”>weight loss programs</a>

The more backlinks with weight loss programs as a keyword you use to link to your website will get you a ranking boost in the search engine results. You will get more traffic.

That’s pure basic SEO stuff, fundamentals that still apply. We’re not into advanced stuff here so no need for details. But it actually works, still works. Fo small niche websites this strategy can be more than enough to get high rankings and stick there. I know because I have several websites that I marketed only with articles, or mostly with.

Now, you can submit the same article to multiple article directories, this way you multiply your backlinks. If you have already read about duplicate content you may believe it’s not worth it, or you may also know that links still get indexed, but Google will only serve one version of your article in the search engines.

Remember that in this configuration, you write articles to get rankings boost for your website. Eventually your article will rank high, and days or weeks after they will start to rank lower, but still the backlinks have been indexed. So you don’t really care if your articles receive any kind of traffic.

We’ll talk in another post about how to index links faster, or more links for your marketing efforts because some directories are less authoritative and may not get indexed at all, unless you tell search engines about those.

However you may want to take advantage of the authority of the article directories and deliver your message in the articles. In this case you care more about the articles than your website. Your website will serve as a selling platform, or pre-selling page.

That’s the second part.

II. Getting traffic to the articles

This part is going to be shorter, because the principles to optimize a page of your own apply in the exact same way as for an article you submitted to an article directory.

What does that mean ?

Well clearly you will optimize your article as it was content for your website. So your keyword will go in your title, summary, body (should at least be in the first and last paragraph).

If you want to boost the ranking of your article, you need to build links to it. So yes, you can write articles, or even submit the same article to other article directories than the one you submitted to, and link to there.

  • Concrete example:

The article you want to boost and rank is on EzineArticles.com, the top article directoy, you should really submit to them. For this article your link goes to your website, this is your main article.

Well, you then submit articles to other article directories, but this time the link in your resource box will point to the article on EzineArticles. And the same process takes place, resulting in a boost in rankings and ultimately will make your article stick at a top position in SERPs.

Why would you do this, isn’t it better to boost your website?

It depends of what you want to do, and how much effort you want to put into a website. If you drive traffic to article directories, you may not need to optimize your website for search engines. And you may just have one page of content pre-selling an offer you are promoting as an affiliate.

Now to expand on this, you can of course write more articles on different keywords and boost them all. The goal is to have one article for each keyword you want in the top SERPs.

Now ultimately, if your articles get backlinks, the become stronger, and the backlinks you get from are considered stronger too. So your website may also get a boost in rankings.

There are many other concepts we should go through, in terms of SEO but for the sake of simple article marketing this almost all you need to know.

Backlinking from a variety of sources, not just article directories is something you should do to appear natural in the eyes of search engines. Not that article marketing only doesn’t appear natural, but it’s of course beneficial to show search engines other sources like blogs, forums, social media sites, press releases are mentioning your website by having a link to your site.

III. Combining both

Aha! You didn’t expect to see a third part did you? Well, nothing prevents you to combine both: optimizing your website and optimizing your articles. The purpose: getting the most traffic.

Just to take the idea from part II, if your articles get stronger, the backlinks are too, and then your website too. So instead of just having one page of content on your website, you will want to have more pages, that you will need to backlink to, using what we said above.

Here’s a concrete example again.

  • Article 1,2,3 Keyword: weight loss programs – link to http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com
  • Article 4,5,6 Keyword: weight los tips – link to http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com/weight-loss-tips/
  • Article 7,8,9 keyword : weight loss workout – link to http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com/weight-loss-workout/

The number of articles per keyword is just an example, and the weight loss niche too.

Now in this perspective you at least get 9 backlinks to your website (more of course if you submit each 9 articles to multiple article drectories).

To get stronger backlinks, you will also do this:

  • Article 10,11,12 : keyword weight loss programs (or variation) link to article 1,2,3
  • Article 13,14,15 : keyword weight loss tips (or variation) link to article 4,5,6
  • Article 16,17,18 : keyword weight loss workout (or variation) link to article 7,8,9

Okay that post is certainly very long, but also very basic. I hope it helps few beginners and if you are in small niches again, you can get real results only by using article marketing. In future posts we’ll see more about article marketing and SEO strategies.

Now I understand many marketers will tell me there’s nothing new in that post, but it’s still accurate and there are many others just starting out. Actually, I could have been into much more newbie details. But it’s a good thing that not too many things are said so people make their own experiment and see what happens.

Now, here’s a link you should visit, the top 50 article directories, ordered by alexa ranking, and with PageRank. This list is constantly updated, every month.

Just a little note: they have their guidelines that you need to write, for example EzineArticles accept articles from 250 words, some will require 300, 400 or more. Don’t submit to all (if you can then do it but), you can select the top 15 and you’ll get some good results from them.

Once you have made some money or if you already have some, you may buy an article submission software that will do it automatically. I’ll recommend one to you later. I use few ones, and I’ll tell you about those. And don’t worry there are cheap solutions out there, as well as free ones.

I think it’s time to leave you for today, or maybe I’d get something to add, damn am I becoming a blogger?
