I’ve been working a lot on the new theme, and will finally not use the Gantry Framework as I said in a previous post.I’ve been brainstorming with other persons for Christmas gift ideas (and I still haven’t done any shoppin, oops), and a little bit of… woodworking.

But anyway I think I will have something like 12 widgetized areas, I certainly should have outsourced the work because it took me a lot of time to figure things out. I’m not a designer or coder but really thought it would not take that long. Anyway it’s almost done, I just need to choose few colors. IT will still be a very simple and clean layout.

Okay so, I’m still here and will tell you about few other things today. I think I’l have a review ready for you about a keyword research software. Yeah I know there are tons on the market but this one is really inexpensive and do everything you actually want from such tool.

7 days in December have already passed, so you have to take advantage the remaining 24 to shoot the right target. In such a short timeframe you will really have to ensure your goal is realistic.

Christmas is still profitable if you want to market few affiliate products, that may be one of your goal: building a new website or fanpage around a product and drive traffic to it to generate [insert whatever amount of $] you want.

It doesn’t have to be around internet marketing or any professional task.

That’s just an example, but in fact there are always plenty of things we plan and don’t do. So again, the last 3 weeks of December can still be profitable or great to get a new challenge.

So before you plan your goals for 2012, what are your goals for the end of 2011?

For me, there is one I mentioned about in a post I made 3 or 4 days ago about improving this blog. I want to change the theme, add more social engagement and add images to my posts. For the images, I just need to think about adding an image. For the other two, I’m currently playing with the Gantry Framework, which allows you to create any kind of layout. It’s for Joomla and WordPress (there is a plugin and a theme). So I’m testing on another domain before I add it here because there are tons of options to configure and it may take a bit of time before I really produce something cool.

The video talks about a lot of economic factors, lots of figures in the first minutes of the video to help you analyze and understand why the financial crash happened. The economy is bad for sure but it’s going to be worse.

Actually, governments, politicians don’t have a clue about economy and finance it seems. Plus since every major economy are interlinked, when one goes down… it pulls the other down too.

I’ve seen the impressive figures in the graphs Mike Dillard shares. That’s kind of scary, I didn’t really realize that. Thingsl ike the global debt was something like 44 trillions of dollars, 15 trillions for the USA alone.

So the growth as we expect will not occur really, except in few niches such as bio-technology. One point they made was the lack of resources that we’re going to face.

Most economies depend on oil. We need it for resources such as food from where it’s produced to your plate. Production, transport, etc. But the thing is oil production declines, and new oil discoveries too (over 9% per year!). Water is going to be a problem too. The global population is increasing tremendously, that means more food, more water, more resources are needed.

To cope with this more money is simply printed and flooded into the market. What happens is the devaluation of the currency, which leads to hyperinflation.

This will happen again.

The financial advisors give their predictions for 2012 which are very interesting (it starts at about 40 minutes).

Well, I just came onto something that could really become great at increasing my traffic, rangings and ultimately my revenue. But, I don’t want to talk much about it now because I need to put it to the test first. I really don’t want to recommend something that may not as great as it seems to be.

It is great and I’ve seen proof it works, now I’m going to try to make it work for me. All I can say is that in addition to traffic and rankings, it will also include super cheap outsourcing and product creation. So the world could really soon see my very first product, and I’ll dominate the world. Huh?

This is not the only new idea I came accross today, or more precisely now that’s a new opportunity that is coming to all of us. And I know we all need this. That’s beyond internet marketing, that’s a whole different beast, so I’m definitely not going to talk about IM in this post. But this is BIG.

BIG in the sense that it can change our lives. From what I’ve seen, It has already started to change lives for few ones. Okay I may have done better but that’s really wrapping up what I wanted to say. So what are you going to do this year. How are you going to start 2011?

I have an idea, I complete my last year challenges and am quite happy. Sure all expectations were not met but at least every action required were done and I have complete the challenges.

So my idea is quite simple: set new challenges, new goals, aim higher.

Well it was not the fault of the provider, a bad wiring inside. Which means I have to pay for the repair. Ouch, 122.49 euros. Damn Christmas in advance, what a gift.

Since this is a Triple play offer (internet, TV, phone), all the services are down. Yeah that sucks. so what can you do when it occurs?

I could not, submit articles to directories, and make research on topics so I can write more articles.

So I wrote articles on topics I knew about. I also planned a lot of stuff to run when my connexion is up again. For example I have written instructions for outsourcing stuff. Hopefully, since I had outsourced few articles before this happened, writers have been able to do the job.

I remembered an article I saw on WorkAwesome, I already mentioned this website. Some nice content there. Anyway the article to read in this case is… How To Stay Productive When The Internet Is Down.

Now of course this has affected my 30 day challenge. I talked about it 3 days ago. I want to update 3 blogs a day. Two are very easy to do, already indexed, and one is started from scratch. I’ve not been able to publish yesterday. Not really a big deal but still something I would have prefered to avoid.

Okay so one of m best tip, also on the blog post I mentioned is : PLANNING.Preparing stuff that you can do immediately after your connexion is back up.

You certainly have heard that you should start with the most important thing first, or the one that ask you the most effort. Only you can know that.

You may also have repetitive tasks that you may have to do every day. For example if you have created new sites this can be writing content, sumitting articles, building backlinks, etc.

Today, my goals were to

• write 3 articles for one of my website,
• social bookmarking for 3 blog posts (3 different blogs),
• outsource something (I chose content again, 6 articles for article marketing purpose).

These were the things I needed and wanted to do TODAY. And I did.

You should do it again because you may really don’t know where to start. You spend few minutes to figure what tasks should be done and start analysing potential results instead of actually taking action and then track results once you have something done.

Hesitation leads to procrastination, some stuff will even look harder than they really are, because of your looooooong analysis. When you have goals set for your day (which should be steps towards bigger goals), you can go through these and move on. Once your main goals for the day are accomplished, you may set some more goals, always ask yourself if this is part of your plan.

Also make your goals SMART, though for little daily goals like this I mostly focus on time. For example I know these goals have to be done in the day, but I can actually do these much faster.

So an article can be searched and written in 30 minutes MAX. For social bookmarking I use a software so this is actually quite fast. For outsourcing 6 articles, I decided to search keywords (volume, competition) to be included and give to writers, and set time for this to 30 minutes, then submitting instructions.

Of course nothing is going to happen by simply wanting it, but if you can remember what you want then you will put yourself in a discipline, focus mode that will move you towards your goal. Again this has something to do with taking action. We stop ourselves from doing because we fear of not getting results, we are scared to take a risk, we think about wasting time and that the outcome is not there at the end.

We just freeze and don’t move on. This may be inconscient but what we do is focusing on all the negatives side. So once you have a decsion to make here are few qestions to ask yourself:

• become a 60 seconds decider (I got this from Jason Fladlien): Will this or that action/decision will completely change your life or business? If yes, you may need to take more time, otherwise in 60 seconds you should be able to decide if this action should be done or not, and move on.
• What is the worst thing that could happen to your business if you take that action? Is it irreversible? Most of the time, it’s not.
• What is the cost of NOT taking action? What is the outcome of doing nothing?
• What results do you expect from that action? So do it!

This introducion may look a bit long but I thought it is dedicated to get your mindset on ACTION mode.

Achieving Goals Step By Step

So you may want to lose 20 pounds, do it 1 pound after the other. Of course set your goals the SMART way (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-targeted).

For income goals you need to know HOW you’re going to achieve it. You may have decided to reach $10,000 per month. How? By having 10 websites to generate $1,000 each. Just an example, you can have your own numbers.

Of course you still don’t know how easch site will perform but we’re not going to discuss niche research, product selection, keyword research and competition analysis.

But either as an affiliate or a product creator (or both), you can decide the money to be made with the $ per sale you get.

$1,000 per month is about $34 per day. You may make more or less commissions depending on various factors but you shouldn’t think about that. What you need to focus on is getting the site up and getting traffic and sales/commissions and then improve if needed.

Basically you need to register a domain, install WordPress (or another site/blog platform you like), have content, monetization, and traffic. The details are omitted on purpose. Most people know how to create a website, create content, build backlinks and so on.

Once you have been marketing online for some time you know what to do, it may just look boring. Have a clear plan, each of your actions should be laid out and you should be able to go through these one by one, or step by step. Outsource your plan if you can.

Let’s dig in our example a bit more:

If you decided to monetize an site with AdSense, you may have 20 pages. To reach $34 a day, each page should generate $1.7. It’s certainly doable right? Remember you can monetize with affiliate offers too, or have your own product.

Build one website and market it so you can generat an income and invest it in content creation. If you already have money to invest then you can have your first website content done for you, and focus on the marketing until you reach your goal.

Hey how many $5 articles can you buy with $1,000? The answer is 200! Or 20 articles x 10 sites. So if you have one website profitable you can and you SHOULD re-invest in your business and reach your goal much faster!

For your first site, writing 20 articles is just writing 1 article, and then another article, until you’ve done it 20 times. Again, just divide each goal, each task and FOCUS on it 200%.

So what is your plan? Can you clearly see each step? Then move on.

In the very beginning of this post I asked you what it is that you really want. So it can be the car, the house… And unfortunately these things are not free, but not impossible to get providing you do the right things and focus on what makes you money.

If you’re not sure if something is worth doing, ask yourself the questions we’ve seen earlier and also this one: will this move me towards my goal or away from it?

If this is something that can be incorporated to your plan then it is fine, otherwise are you really going to use it? An example would be automation softwares. If you saw an offer for an article directory submitter, it can be great if you’re an SEO and article marketer by doubling or tripling your efforts. But if you plan to get traffic with PPC or PPV then is it really worth it?
