Setting Goals To Achieve Your Dream Lifestyle

So yesterday I blogged about my blogging challenge and mentioned that it can be considered like a goal to achieve. I made the challenge public:  just adding one blog post per day here. It’s a nice and easy goal but goal setting can really help you stay focus, get motivated and achieve the dream lifestyle you always ever wanted.

Can you imagine living the dream (and not dreaming the life) ?! That’s awesome isn’t it? Fact is, most people would think that it is impossible. The big house, the sports car, travelling around the world…

So let’s start with a definition, I searched for a way to define it but it was too long so here’s one to the point:

Goal setting involves establishing specific, measurable and time-targeted objectives.

I took this from wikipedia and this is something you should always have in mind when you set goals. If you want an even more complete technique check this post on SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timed).

The realistic criteria may or may not be accurate. In the 4 Hour Work Week, Tim Ferris says to set really BIG goals, something that you would not think possible right now, but that you will achieve and surpass anyway. This is a trick to make you think big. Because your mind will have to docus on that and you will take massive action.

Now of course, some will say if it’s not realistic, you will think it’s not attainable and not take action.

So here’s a tip: every goal is attainable, so it is always realistic. The route to achieve it my require more work, but it can be done. Period. Never doubt. And alwyas take action, just do something.

Here’s your new motto. Do you know Nike and Adidas slogans?

Just Do It and Impossible is Nothing.

I love these quotes, and if you keep those in mind, combined together nothing should prevent you from not achieving your goals. But doing things has more to do with procrastination or productivity and it will be another post subject I guess.

Back to goals setting, and to the main criterias : Specific, Measurable, Time-targeted.

Saying I want to make a lot of money is not specific. And irrelevant. A lot of money is not the same amount depending of where you live on the planet and the economy of your country.

I want to make $10,000 per month, or $100,000 a year is better, but not completely specific. You also need to tell how you’re going to do it.

Have more websites, build a list and create products to sell them, conduct high ticket webinars… How?

You may also want to tell yourself why: it can be to buy that car, be able to travel 5 times a year.

Once your goal is specific you can draw a route to that goal, by visualizing steps, which may be intermediary goals, and dissecting these steps.

If you want to have more websites, you may say you will do it by outsourcing all content, design creation and marketing. (that’s another “How”). Creating your own products may mean have a low entry one of $17, and another one at $97 and another one priced at $497.

Now about the measureable criteria. You can see the measure by the numbers. How much money, and make it progressive:

I want to lose 10 pounds in 30 days from now, by exercising 4 times a week. Each week then, you are able to track your progress.

Now the last main criteria is to have a timed goal. You need a deadline, otherwise you will never focus on it and forget about it. Even when you’ll get back at it, you will not have this “pressure” that tells you to get it done in 10, 30, 90 days or a year.

That’s pretty much it. I’m not a self improvement guru so my words may not be the best but I think you can see the point of all this.

Define a specific goal that you will achieve in a fixed time-frame and that you can measure and track. And stay focus!

Now your goals can be short term, long term. Very long term as well as very short term. Have you ever set goals for your work day. Today what do you want to achieve? It is certainly something you have to do, but it’s not defined very well so you don’t focus on these things.

Why not something like “Today, I will write 5 articles by searching and focusing on each topic for 20 minutes each”.

It can be building XY backlinks in one hour as well as becoming a recognized expert in your field in 1 year, or be a mllionaire in 3 years.

These are professional goals, but you can apply it to all your personal goals too.

2 Weeks Before 30 Days Blogging Challenge Success

Okay, I’m saying success and it’s not over, if you don’t know what I’m talking about I’ve chanllenged myself to write at least one blog post per day for 30 days. So on November 22nd I should have 174 posts published on my blog. I’m currently already at 169 with this one.

The goal is not really in the number of published posts but in the daily postings. So I plan to follow up and deliver some stuff. This is my post for today, I have not really anything to say but that’s a post I have to make. So there may be a lesson here and that’s the one of making your challenge public.

When you do this everyone knows about it and will know if you fail so… I don’t want to fail this and plan to succeed.

This is a little goal to achieve, so in my next posts we’ll discuss goal settings, and achieving those.

Take care,

Tom

30 Days Blogging Challenge Fail?

Nope! I didn’t fail on my challenge, of course it’s not over. But if you were waiting for my new post yesterday, you saw… nothing! Iactually wrote the pot and saved it as a draft ’cause I wanted to make few additions and start to write a part 2 for the next day… today. And I forgot about publishing the first part.

So in my previous post we talked about ranking duplicate content. So I thought it was a good idea to talk about autoblogging, and if you read carefully you’ll see you can quickly build sites and add content that ranks with very little work, no plugins needed.

Of course plugins helped and I’ll let you read the post in few minutes. I just want all posts to get pinged and I set my blog ping optimizer to ping only once every 15 minutes. So in 15 minutes from now you’ll see what you should have seen yesterday. And a bit later, the second part.

Have a great day.

Hello World, I’m Still Alive and Something Revolutionary

Hey! It seems I’m still alive. I haven’t updated Internet Marketing Trip for a while now. I see my last post was on June 20… Well I know, it’s not the right thing t do if you want to have a successful blog but actually, I don’t consider myself a blogger, I’ve already said that in the past.

What I’ve been doing

I’m busy creating and promoting niche websites and recently of course I developed few Halloween related sites. Now I still use WordPress, (you know, the blogging platform), to make all of my websites and I love it. So my time is not really focused here but I think I will have things to share with you, in the hope somebody still come here.

I’m an affiliate marketer and that certainly means I’m going to push you offers from others to make a commission. Don’t worry, I only do it with quality products that I believe in. I have to admit I certainly have recommended products that were not that great for some but still good enough for most.

On the other hand, how many great products are considered crap while in fact people don’t take action and apply the knowledge they get.

Well I have learnt a lot of things. I’ve bought other courses, programs, softwares to make my internet marketing work easier. Yes there is work, everyone who tells you you don’t need to work is fooling you However it’s true few things can make your life and work easier. And I came to a point that I can say I have learnt enough to share what I know.

Well, this is what I’ve already done in the past, sharing tips or recommending resources, but there was no real order to that and I know it’s very easy to get confused in the IM world. I believe in fundamentals as much as in “new ways” but I surely know there are plenty of “new and revolutionary” systems that are complete junk and rehash content.

Where I’m going?

I really want to share all I know. I don’t have a product (yet). I don’t have a list (yet). So I may just share here everything I know from making money online with affiliate marketing (driving traffic, converting, copywriting, link building, etc). I’ve been online for 3 years now, and in 3 years there are lots of things that happen, and change too.

But there are also many things that you should still do. I’ve started with article marketing, I still do because it still works. And those who tell you it doesn’t don’t know how to market with articles.

I’m also following a lot less people than I did in the past. I saw my last post was about Jason Fladlien Copy E-class (you can still access the course), a copywriting course. Well Jason is one of the rare person you should listen too. No hypey sales page, no fluff. Just real and working techniques everyone can use. You can be sure to get top notch quality and he always keep very low prices, on a lot of subjects too.

Same advice: Take Action (always)

Hopefully he’s not the only one that delivers great stuff. And not necessarily with a $2000 price tag. If you can afford it then go for it, be sure it’s from a reputable source. But have you actually put enough action in that $17 report. Again don’t go out there and buy every report you can find, even if they received tons of great reviews, you will end up thinking you need another one, and another one…

You certainly have enough to read and apply. If you don’t you should choose ONE  great guide to follow and commit to do every single step, rinse and repeat until you get result.

A New Start

I will craft another post for you later today about something you should really know about. You’ll have to pay for this info, but just $2. Actually less than that. This is something really revolutionary (yes I know, but trust me…),  that can pay off for a lifetime and you just need to work once at it. More details very soon.

I may also change that theme that’s been there for… well maybe since I started it. What do you think? And also tell me if there are subjects you would like me to talk about.

Waiting For Commissions… A Bit Pissed Of

I have to say I’m a bit pissed of, I’ve been waiting for months for commissions and no, it’s not because there is a money back guarantee period that needs to be cleared. These commissions were generated about six months ago and I still got nothing. It’s not like I didn’t tell the merchants about this earlier, but today I’ve sent another email to these 2 product owners that made BIG launches last year for that same issue.

In both case , the country can not be changed. Seems their system is made only for US affiliates though they ask for your W8 form, for internantional affiliates.

First one : InfusionSoft, here’s how it looks like in the “My Profile” page :

country ?

Don’t worry, I know the form above is blank, I just removed my infos for the screenshot, but I have filled the fields with the proper details and added my country , FRANCE, with my city. Maybe Mr InfusionSoft would be nice to add just one more field to their form?

The other one that didn’t pay me has an in house affiliate program. There is a drop down menu where you can choose your country and then save your info. It tells you that your info is saved, then you refresh the page and the country is again United States… really kewl.

I’ve mailed them about that in the past but “since you sent us your W8 I have your correct address“… So they say.

So that’s just a little post that may not change how things are but just to say that I’m a bit pissed of to have to email more than once everyone for the same issue and still it’s not solved. :(

Let’s do some more productive stuff now ;)

I’m 27 Today

Well that’s it, today is my birthday, I just turned 27. Happy birthday to me.

Wishing everyone a happy day too, and a happy birthday to everyone born at that same date ;) . I’ll have some great posts to come this week, the biggest posts I’ve ever written, content you can use. Stay tune

Jason Moffatt Wants The Truth

Hey guys, I just want to make a quick post about a report Jason Moffatt created. It’s called The Truth Serum report, and it’s very interesting, and yes it’s free too.

In my last post I think I mentioned a new direction that was going to take this blog, well there are a few things relate in the report Jason wrote, and this is about truth. Not that I’m not honest, I also give my opinion but I can certainly do more. I truly believe Jason Moffatt is an honest, sincere guy. I’ve already bought from him his Easy Video Sales package and this is a great package, with lots of value, with many applicable things that the little internet marketer can apply. That was cool.

So today, you have nothing to buy, neither do I, just want to let you know about The Truth Serum and how it can impact your marketing effort. This is 18 pages long so it will not take all your time, just be sure to read it though because it is the kind of stuff that you want to know to make a difference.

So, no it’s not a marketing course packed with the step by step instructions that will make you 10k overnight, but it if you want to learn more about you and others, your relationships with your readers, visitors or even friends, and get the right mindset to change the things and make them right then, I suggest you read it. There are few resources that are well worth it if you’re an affiliate, but also some things you can use in your personal life.

I didn’t reveal much here but that’s the purpose, I can say you’ll even learn few things about beer ;) Get The Truth Serum report.

Chad Kimball & Safe Families

I just got an email from Chad Kimball. this guy is a smart internet marketer that I’d have to talk about very soon (he has some super content that you’ll have to check).

This post is not about internet marketing, but about Safe Families. Here’s what it is, from their website :

“Volunteers open their homes to children whose parents are experiencing a short-term emergency, such as hospitalization, or a longer-term crisis, such as drug abuse.”

Chad currently welcomes a 2-year old boy for 3 months. Just go send some kind words to him : Chad Kimball & Safe Families.

Finally Back But…

I’m finally back from vacation and (almost) ready to work. I have so many things to do, I guess I’m not the only guy to say this when back at his computer.

There are tons of emails I have to go through, even if I know what will directly go to the trash and what is worth reading. I have in fact many things that were not completely finished and need to be done. I should be able to deal with those, but I know that in 2 weeks I’ll be away from home again.

Few things in my personal also have to be done, and I will not be able to work.

On a positive note, I have made some money during my vacation, without touching anything. This is what’s cool with internet marketing. Once a system is set up, it can work for years. Yes it may need some maintenance over time, but it’s still an income source.

Anyway, I have some reviews to do, some emails to write to partners, some video skinning sites to build (that’s where I stopped last time I wrote here).

Back to work (for 2 weeks only…)

So, What I’ve Done Since Last Time…

It’s been a while since I didn’t post here, my last one was “Happy New Year”. So, 2 months later I may have a few things to say. I think I will not be able to tell you everything I’ve done in one post now, but I promise that the very next days and posts will be more detailed and, I hope, informative. I think I’ll also write a post on “what I’ve learnt since I started Internet Marketing”.

What I’ve done ?

Principally, I’ve used the Conduit Method, by Chris Rempel to build and markets few websites. This is something I already mentioned here, I know, but this can’t hurt to tell you again how simple and profitable this is.And again the Chris Rempel’s VIP reports are cheap and can immediately be put into action. Now, just a tip, if after you buy one of his VIP reports you get an upsell that allows you to get all others VIP reports, even the ones that are not released yet, then take this opportunity.

(I don’t want to sound like I’m hard selling, but if you are looking for simple and smart ways to make money online, then I hugely recommend you buy Chris Rempel stuff, at least take the Conduit Method, it’s only $14.95.)

There was a comment recently on this blog about Chris Rempel stuff I promote, someone said it was good to say a product is good but you have to use it. I replied that I am using it and am making money with this. I’ve always wondered if I should add screenshots of some affiliate networks accounts to show proof. I’ve always thought there will be people who say you edited your pictures with Photoshop, or you’re just bragging about your earnings. Also I am not sure it helps anyone to show a screenshot.

Plus, by outsourcing few tasks like article writing I’ve been able to do much more things. My productivity increased and speaking of this…

Productivity

I’ve joined the Wake Up Productive program by Eben Pagan. By the name you have guessed this course teach you how to be more productive. This is a good course that is spread on 12 weeks. It’s $297, and currently closed. It was opened for a very short time at the end of december, or maybe start of January.

However, just after I joined, I downloaded a free interview Jazon Katzenback (aka JohnCow.com) did with Mark Joyner. Mark Joyner is a big name in the Internet Marketing industry. The report was about planning in 2009. And (I’m sure many of you already know this website), I discovered Simpleology. Believe it or not, I didn’t know about this website 3 months ago, but this is an extremely high value resource.

Simpleology 101, the simple science of getting what you want. Create an account there, it is free. You’ll get a full course on productivity and how to manage your time better and get many more things done. And you know what ? I prefer the Simpleology website than the Wake Up Productive course. Why ? There is a community forum, support, and tons of free resources, and a lesson (video, ebook to print, audio) to learn and practice everyday. With Wake Up Productive, you have one lesson (video too) each week (12 weeks) to practice and integrate to your routine. The only way to communicate with others is via comments, just like any other blog

Don’t get me wrong, Wake Up Productive is very good too, Eben style is great and there is a high value in it that’s what I stayed in this program too, but I guess this is better to take these kind of programs one by one, and not at the same time.

Since Mark Joyner is an internet marketer too, be prepared to receive some emails that promotes many of his products. However, you will receive more free stuff from Simpleology, you don’t have to buy anything more if you don’t want too. But I suggest you keep the emails he sends you, because when he offers something this is at a discounted price, if you then want to buy it from Simpleology you may not get this same discount.

Now something that you MUST read too : I got an email for one of his book : Mind Control Marketing. The email said that this book was so big that he had to stop selling it. And people started to resell their version on Amazon Marketplace or eBay for something like $500. I didn’t believe it really, so I checked Amazon and eBay, and searched for Mind Control Marketing. And indeed, this is the case. But you can now get the ebook version for only $27 if you create an account with Simpleology.

As for the free resources I mentioned, these are the ebook version of his bestsellers “The Irresistible Offer” or “The Great Formula”, still selling well at Amazon.

Damn I’m not even getting paid for telling you about this ! There is something inside Simplology 102, the simple science of money ($97 but you’ll get an offer to have it free with another product that you can try for $1, I did), and this is about “Word of Mouth”, that is the most powerful marketing model for your business.

Thinking about creating my own product

I don’t know really if it will be about Internet Marketing or launching online business, if I’ll write it in French or English and many other things. I’ve signed up for an InfoMillionaire membership, this is a course by Frank Kern, and a good one. Basically, you send traffic to a squeeze page that redirects to an affiliate program. You then create your own product, and market it to the list you just built. You need to create a product that is better than the one you are promoting, and of course you now have a targeted list to market to.

I don’t know if I will stay in the InfoMillionaire membership, I have received 2 monthly issues for now. This is very good yes, but I know there are other courses that can teach you how to create your own product and how to build your list. And oh, the 2 last Chris Rempel VIP reports are The Rapid List Profit Formula, and the 24 Hour Hot Product Formula.

The 24 Hour Hot Product Formula hast just been released, it is live from yesterday. I didn’t have time to read it, but I can tell you it’s 28 pages, and that this is the method Chris Rempel used to create $76k in December 2008. What he says is that Affiliate Marketing is great, no inventory, no customer support, but then you have all the promotion and traffic generation work to do. Creating your own product can be done in 24 hours, and doesn’t take that much effort, even less than being an affiliate. And all the promotion and traffic generation is done by… affiliates. When I will have read it I’ll provide a review as always.

Video Marketing

I joined Easy Video Sales few months ago, a course created by Jason Moffatt, and thus have started a bit of video marketing. Video websites receive high traffic and why not have some more exposure for your websites ? So I have made a few videos for some offers but I was concerned by getting more traffic, not just YouTube.

I have tried Video Post Robot, a software that automates your video submission to 18 video websites. It used to be more but some repeated bugs lead the team to remove some. Is it good ? Well, yes it is. How much ? $197. I said I tried, this means I asked for a refund. Now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t really have to stay with it.

I wanted a refund because it always failed to upload to YouTube (and Yahoo Videos and MSN). I’ve checked many times my settings and “Status = Failed”. YouTube being the BIG one, I thought it was really bad if it can’t upload there. But actually, it would have been only 3 websites where I would have to upload manually. Anyway, I think you should check it out for yourself, and don’t worry, you have 30 days to try it, if you want a refund you just ask the customer service team and they are very friendly.

Maybe you will have more success with your uploads, there are other automation softwares I want to try. When you need to get more things done you need to automate some parts of your business, and you either do it by outsourcing or use the tools that can do it automatically.

This post is a bit long now and I still have things to say. But I’ll finish with this :

Free Stuff

Just because I like free stuff and I know we all like it, here are the things that I have came accross recently that may help some of you :

Simpleology. Again that’s free and will teach you how to get more productive and manage your time better. That’s cool !
2009 Planning – The Mark Joyner interview by Jason Katzenback.
(I just visit JohnCow.com for the link above, and that reminds me he wrote a nice free ebook : How to Build a Business Not Just A Blog, you’ll find it easily there).
CPA Marketing – I got an email, I don’t remember who sent me this, but this is a free report that would certainly be useful to those who want to try CPA Marketing, it has been very hot recently. So if you want to do or already are doing some Pay Per Click marketing then grab it. This is written by Gauher Chaudhry, from PPC Classroom.

I’ll post again tomorrow. Have a nice day, or night depending on where you live.
